Singing
At the Tammy Worth Academy, singing tuition is provided either on a private individual basis, or in small group classes of up to 5 students. With private lessons, students are able to receive expert tuition, perfectly catered to their individual needs and interests. Having only small numbers in the group classes ensures that they too receive the careful attention required to learn the art of singing. All vocal students are taught the vital singing techniques of breathing and placement using exercises and songs that are appropriate for their vocal ability and age.
While aiming to improve and enhance each student’s personal vocal skills, teachers provide a fun environment where students discover how to sing many genres of music, including pop, jazz, music theatre and classical. Students are also taught about stage performance and presentation. They are then given the opportunity to demonstrate and develop these skills at the Annual Singing Soiree as well as the annual concert at the Riverside Theatre. Throughout the year, selected students perform at local festivals and compete in eisteddfods and talent quests, where they are able to showcase their vocal talents.
TWA also offers training in Musical Theatre which combines song, spoken dialogue, acting, and dance. The story and emotional content of a musical are communicated through the words, music, movement and technical aspects of the entertainment as an integrated whole.
